Tamang Heritage Trail Trek is a thrilling and amusing trekking trail which lets you get up close with Tamang culture of the Himalayan region and see the dazzling views of Langtang mountain range. This trekking trail gives an insider’s an insight on to the cultural heritages of the Tamang society, with well preserved cultural legacies which is persistent till date. Along with the cultural portion, the trekkers can also witness the captivating natural scenery of the Himalayas, the colorful rhododendron forests, lush mid-hills, stunning landscapes as well as natural hot springs along off the beat and newly opened route.

This trek is a wonderful trekking route to explore the ancient culture and lifestyle of Tamang ethnic groups whose culture and tradition is related to the Tibetan Buddhism. Our trek shall commence starts from Syaprubesi (2160m) with an approximate drive of about 6-7 drive and ends at the same point after exploring the other unexplored villages of Gatlang, Tatopani, Thuman and Briddim. Tamang Heritage Trek navigates the Tamang villages along the Langtang region with the aim to make this rich cultural legacy a national pride and a means to support the people in the region. This indigenous community, living in close vicinity to the mighty Langtang, adorns the houses with beautiful woodcarvings and dress themselves in colorful dresses. Generally the trekkers need to have sensible amount of physical fitness capabilities to walk for 5-6 hours on an average in the hilly landscape. This trek is recommended to be carried out during the seasonal months of February to June and September to November. Itinerary Overview

Day 01: Kathmandu arrival at TIA and half day sightseeing in Kathmandu and stay at Ktm Hotel

Day 02: Take a drive from Kathmandu to Syaprubesi (2160m) 6-7 hrs drive

Day 03: Trek from Syabrubesi to Gatlang (2298m) 5-6 hrs

Day 04: Trek from Gatlang to Tatopani (2607m) 6-7 hrs

Day 05: Trek from Tatopani to Thuman (2338m) 4-5 hrs

Day 06: Trek from Thuman to Briddim (2229m) 5-6 hrs

Day 07: Trek from Briddim to Syaprubesi (2160m) 3-4 hrs

Day 08: Syaprubesi to Kathmandu (1400m) 6-7 hrs drive

Day 09: Final Departure



  • Airport transfer pick up and drop
  • Hotel accommodation in Kathmandu with breakfast
  • Transfer Kathmandu-Syabrubesi-Kathmandu by local bus
  • Teahouse accommodation during the trek
  • All meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) during the trek
  • An experienced, English-speaking and government-licensed trek leader and assistant trek leader (4 trekkers: 1 assistant guide), Porter service (2 trekkers: 1 porter) including their salary, insurance, equipment, domestic airfare, food and accommodation
  • All necessary paperwork and trekking permits (Langtang National Park Permit, TIMS)
