Captivating trekkers from around the globe since the 1920s, Everest Base Camp Trek takes you to the vicinity of the world’s tallest peak Mt. Everest. Traversing through the thriving and blossoming forests and glacial valleys you shall explore the rich and diverse Khumbhu region in our Everest Base Camp Trek. Prayer wheels, prayer flags and swinging bridges during the day and conversation around dining-room fire in the evening make this a truly unique trekking destination in all of Himalayan region.

Welcomed by the scenic hill town of Lukla, the trek leads to the village of Phakding in the initial trekking day. Some highlights of this trek include Sherpa village of Namche Bazaar with its history, culture and diversity, across the vertiginous suspension bridges and the iconic Kala Patthar (5545m) providing you with breathtaking scenery of the Everest region. The trekking route shall ascend down the Khumbu valley on well formed trekking routes that provide foot access between villages for the Sherpa people. All the way through several suspension bridges, beautiful rhododendron forests and small settlements, we shall experience the diverse miscellany of wildlife and vegetation in the sanctuary of Sagarmatha National Park to reach Namche Bazaar which is the vivid and effervescent heart of Sherpa country. Throughout the trek, you shall be staying at trekking teahouse lodges with basic accommodation facilities. Further ahead we shall move on to the religious hubs of Tengboche and Dingboche, after that our trekking route leads us through the tangential moraine of Khumbu glacier and Lobuche prior to getting to the Everest Base Camp by passing through Gorakshep. Diversion to the Kala Patthar shall provide you with the major iconic viewpoint of the mighty Everest and other neighboring peaks. Kala Patthar is famous for the out of this world vistas of scintillating peaks counting the mighty Mt. Everest, Mt. Lotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Changtse and the regal Khumbu Glacier. As we explore the natural surroundings of the Everest Base Camp we shall retrace our steps back to Pheriche and so from here onwards we shall descend down to Lukla via Namche Bazaar. And lastly we shall end our remarkable trek with a flight back to Kathmandu from Lukla for your departure the next day.

On our 15 days Everest Base Camp Trek you shall to overwhelm you with new and fascinating experiences. Commonly March to May and September to December are the most preferred time for this trek. You should have sensible amount of physical fitness for trekking up through the terrains and mid hills to reach the base of Mt. Everest along with strong mental endurance capacity for walking 5-6 hours on daily basis. Day 01: Arrival at TIA Kathmandu (1350m) & Transfer to the Hotel.

Welcome to the land of the Himalayas! Upon your arrival at Kathmandu Airport, our representative waiting for holding Adventure Master Treks signboard with your name on it will transfer you to the hotel. If you are jet-lagged, you may take rest throughout the day or you can stroll around the city if you still feel energetic after your flight. We will have short discussion about our trip in the evening. Overnight in hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Preparation for the trek in Kathmandu

Today is the day you can do last preparation for your Everest base camp trek including shopping some lacking equipment, exchanging extra money, and other necessary last arrangement for the trek. By the end of this day, you should be ready for your Everest base camp trek with your bags packed. Overnight in hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Lukla (2840m) by air and trek to Phakding. 2610m (2/3 hrs)

Early flights are scheduled for Lukla to avoid weather affects. Your guide picks you up from the hotel, transfer you to domestic airport and you take the scenic flight over the Himalayas. We land on Tenzing-Hillary Airport at Lukla. At Lukla, you meet the porters and you start your  trek after arranging the baggage. The trekking trail begins through the village of Luka and follows the bank of the Dudhkoshi River until we reach Phakding. Today its a short and easy trek to help with the altitude acclimatization. Upon reaching Phakding, you may explore around the village and the nearby monastery. Overnight in teahouse at Phakding.

Day 04: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar. 3440m (5/6 hrs)

Today's trek is through beautiful pine forest along the bank of Dudh Koshi River. On our way, we cross several suspension bridges one of which is Hillary Suspension Bridge and admire wonderful views of Mt. Thamserku. We pass through the settlement of Benkar, Chumoa, Monjo and the village of Jorsale and finally reach Namche Bazaar, the popular tourist hub of Everest region. We catch the first glimpse of mighty Everest in Namche. Overnight in teahouse at Namche.

Day 05: Acclimatization Day / Rest Day in Namche (Hiking to Khumjung Monastery)

Two nights stay is scheduled in Namche Bazzar for acclimatization. As we spend our first acclimatization day at Namche Bazzar, we are supposed to be active and take acclimatization hike to higher altitude to prepare ourselves for more higher altitude trek for next day. We explore the vibrant Namche Bazzar, hike to Everest View Hotel from where we can see nice views of Mt. Everest and its neighboring mountains on a clear day. If you like, you may also hike to Khumjung Monastery where you can see yeti scalp. You hike down back to Namche Bazzar and stay in teahouse.

Day 06: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche. 3860m (5/6 hrs)

The trek is comparatively easy until Phunki Tenga. We walk through beautiful rhododendron forest on gradual as well as several steep trail to Tengboche. Tengboche homes the famous largest monastery of the Everest region. Located within UNESCO’s world heritage site Sagarmatha National Park, the monastery is surrounded with the panoramic views of the Himalayas, including Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam and Thamserku. The monastery opens at 3:00 pm and you can witness the ceremony there and speak with the monks residing in the monastery if you have keen enthusiasm upon Buddhism. Overnight stay will be at teahouse in Tengboche.

Day 07: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche. 4410m (5/6 hrs)

The trekking kicks off after breakfast and we pass through forests adorned with beautiful rhododendron trees. We can enjoy amazing views of Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam. Next, we walk downhill to Debuche and cross Imja River to reach Pangboche. We slowly witness the forests being thinner and transitioning into shrubs and bushes due increasing altitude. We choose the upper Pangboche trail for better views and Pangboche Monastery. Our trek further takes us to Imja valley and Lobuche River before we reach Dingboche. After descending into the river, we have to ascend the last and steepest climb of the day to finally reach Dingboche. Dingboche is a picturesque village with beautiful array of fields enclosed by stone walls to protect crops from winds and animals. Overnight at teahouse in Dingboche

Day 08: Acclimatization Day (acclimatization hike to Nangkartshang Peak)

This is the second acclimatization day of the trek and also the last chance of getting much rest before the last difficult trail of the adventure.  We take acclimatization hike to Nangkartshang peak (also known as Nagarjun peak) from where you see very nice views of Lobuche East (6119m), Lobuche West (6145m), Taboche Peak (6367m), Thamserku (6608m), Kangtega (6685m) and Ama Dablam (6856m). You also can see the Pheriche valley from the top of Nangkartshang peak. We return back to our teahouse at Dingboche for overnight stay.

Day 09: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche. 4910m (4/5 hrs)

Continuing our trek from Dingboche, we walk across a wide pass and we are accompanied by the Himalayas on all sides. As we move forward, the valley begins to narrow and we reach yak herders place called Dusa. We pass the campsite of first successful Everest Expedition in 1953 called Phulung Karpo. As we continue our trek, we admire the view of Mt. Pumori. Further we descend and bid goodbye to Mt. Pumori as it disappears from view. We cross a small bridge and ascend to Dughla from where we can enjoy the magnificent views of peaks like Mt. Cholatse, Mt. Thamserku and several others. Continuing our trek from Duglha, we climb up the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. We ascend Chupki Lhara and at the top of the ridge, we find prayer flags and stones dedicated to the climbers who lost their lives on Everest. Next, we follow the trail to the Khumbu Glacier and find ourselves facing several peaks including Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori and Mahalangur Himal. We cross Khumbu Glacier to reach Lobuche where we stay overnight.

Day 10: Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep (5140m) (2/3 hrs) and hike to EBC 5364m (2.5 hrs)

It is a special day for us as we reach our main destination i.e. Everest Base Camp this day. After early breakfast, the trekking to EBC kicks off with trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep. The trail to Gorakshep is through the lateral moraine of the Khumbu glacier and lets us enjoy the beauty of Himalayas. After a small ascent, we reach Thangma Riju form where we can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of snowcapped peaks. We climb up the steep slope and as we reach the top, we can catch the first glimpse of famous Kala Patthar. Continuing our walk, we reach Gorak Shep where we find ourselves surrounded by snowcapped mountains including mighty Everest. From there, we walk a trail to EBC ascending and descending mostly on a glacier path as well as meandering on rough terrain. Upon reaching EBC, your respect and admiration to Everest climbers grows even more than before. On reaching the base camp, you are rewarded with incredible melt patterns and rounded ice towers. From the base camp, the summit of Everest is not seen due to the structure of the mountain. However, you can enjoy awe-inspiring views of mountains including Nuptse, Khumbuste and Pumori. After having a great time in EBC, we return back to Gorak Shep for overnight stay.

Day 11: Early morning hike to Kala Patthar for sunrise then trek back to Pheriche. 4240m (5/6 hrs)

The highlight of trekking of this day is Kala Patthar, top of which is considered the best viewpoint for amazing close-up view of Everest. We continue our hike early morning to catch the mesmerizing sunrise on Everest from Kala Patthar. As we hike up to Kala Pathhar, we can take several short breaks at viewpoints to capture beautiful pictures. The view from the summit is simple breathtaking. From the summit, we can catch the closest possible view of Everest without requiring technical climbing skills. Other mountains that we can view include Nuptse, Pumori, Ama Dablam, Changtse and Lhotse. After having great time on the top of Kala Patthar, we trek back to Pheriche via Gorakshep. Overnight in Pheriche

Day 12: Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (5/6 hrs)

We have to trek back to reach Namche Bazaar this day. Walking on a trail with lot of ups and downs, we lose about 2,000 ft in elevation to reach Namche. We descend through the hillside filled with rhododendron and juniper trees and cross the prayer flag festooned bridge over the Dudh Koshi River. As we descend through pine forest, we can easily spot mountain goats, pheasants and other wildlife of that area. The trail further takes us to Sansa from where we can witness and admire the Himalayan views of Ama Dablam, Nuptse and Thamserku. After following meandering paths and path through the forest, we reach Namche Bazaar where we stay overnight.

Day 13: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (6/7 hrs)

From Namche, we follow our trail back to Lukla which is mostly a downhill trail alongside Dudhkoshi River. On our way, we pass several suspension bridges, monasteries and villages and finally reach at Lukla. Overnight in Lukla.

Day 14: Lukla to Kathmandu by Air and transfer to hotel.

Early morning, we take a flight back to Kathmandu. After reaching Kathmandu, you deserve a good rest. You may also would spend your time shopping around Himalayan souvenirs for your friends and family. Overnight in hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 15: Final departure

Our Everest base camp trek ends today with your departure.  Approximately three hours before your scheduled flight, our representative will pick you up from your hotel to drop you to the international airport for your flight to onward destination.
