A trek deep in the heart of the Annapurna's massif, going through marvelous valleys to discover the life of the mountain people and to be astonished by the immense splendor of Nepal. The Annapurna Base Camp lies at a height of 4,230 meters and is where mountaineers start their summit of Annapurna I, the 10th highest peak in the world at 8,091 meters. From the tranquil yet touristic lakes in Pokhara to the hamlets strewn by prayer flags in the higher altitudes, and from the lush valleys around the fast flowing rivers to the paths overlooked by the bossy Himalayas, explorers have a lot to enjoy. To state Annapurna Base Camp Trek itinerary, this trekking starts by arriving in Kathmandu valley. Our Annapurna Base Camp Trek takes 11 days as we start from Nayapul (a 1 1/2 hour drive from Pokhara) and go north up to Ghorepani and then to the famous viewpoint of Poon Hill. From Ghorepani you go eastward to Chomrong and then north again entering the Modi Kola Valley which leads up to the Base Camp. In Annapurna Base Camp Trekking, marvel at the sight of golden sunlight spreading majestically over the distant peaks and trek from the mossy jungles at lower altitude to the snow-clad expanses in the higher elevation. Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival at TIA Kathmandu (1350m) & Transfer to the Hotel

After your arrival at the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), you shall be welcomed and greeted by a representative of Adventure Master Treks & Expedition. Afterward you shall be escorted to our private vehicle for a ride to the hotel where you can rest your jetlagged body. Later in the afternoon you may explore the surrounding area and return to your hotel. Stay overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu to Pokhara (800m) by tourists Bus/Car/Air

The initial part of our trekking begins today as after having our breakfast we shall leave Kathmandu for our scenic drive to Pokhara. The winding roads along the mountain side with fast flowing rivers below to the other end shall make our drive more intriguing and amusing for us. Driving up to the convergence point of Trishuli and Marshyangdi Rivers we shall continue heading west to the scenic city of Pokhara. Going through the beautiful view of terraced fields, lush green hills and forests, rural settlements, rocky gorges, cool waterfalls we shall reach Pokhara after our 6 hour long drive from Kathmandu. You should also be informed that you take a flight to Pokhara instead also which lasts about 35min. Stay overnight at Pokhara.

Day 03: Pokhara to Nayapool (1100m) by private car then trek to Tikhedhunga. 1550m (3/4 hrs)

Officially our trekking shall start from today as we shall drive to the settlement of Nayapool which shall be the next destination of our adventurous trek. Our picturesque drive will take us through some of the well-liked villages before reaching Nayapool and upon reaching there you shall prepare yourself for the first walk in our trek. Now we shall navigate through some local houses and shops and cross bridges along our journey ahead to Birethanti. Accompanied by the Modi River we shall go beyond Birethanti and further on we shall move ahead through the dense forest adorned with rhododendron, bamboo and mosses, beautiful waterfalls and serene landscape. With the pleasant views of the Himalayas overlooking the entire trail and several warm welcoming of the rural settlements we shall reach a Gurung settlement with picturesque background called Tikhedhunga. Stay overnight at Tikhedhunga.

Day 04: Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani. 2780m (5/6 hrs)

Today we shall wake up early, finish having our breakfast and then as usual we shall continue on with our trek out of this dazzling village of Tikhedhunga.  For couple of hours we shall come forward to the valley along the steep trail with progressively more beautiful scenery. After walking up the steep path we shall reach a village mostly dominated by Magar population. This village in the local language is called Ulleri. From here one can get some amazing vistas of the Annapurna range which makes the journey even more aesthetic for the trekkers. As we relax for a while we shall now march ahead with more gradual elevation making our walk easy for us. From this instant you can see that our trail if generally covered with pine and rhododendron forests. After crossing over some streams over the suspension bridges and through passing through some stunning villages of Banthati and Nayanthati, we shall now gradually trek to the Ghorepani. Ghorepani will be our final destination where you can rest and gaze at the mountains like Annapurna and Dhaulagiri as the sunsets you too shall get ready to eat your dinner. Stay overnight at Ghorepani.

Day 05: Hiking an hour to Poonhill for sunrise (3210m) and trek to Tadapani. 2650m (5/6 hrs)

Without a doubt, those who are staying at Ghorepani absolutely should hike up to the most celebrated viewpoint of Poonhill and watch the awe-inspiring sunrise over the Himalayan Mountains. So generally we shall wake up early before the sun rises and begin our trek accompanied with torch lights and cameras. Approximately we are needed to walk for about 45 minutes before reaching our highlighted destination of this trip. The Poonhill is truly a magnificent viewpoint with magnificent view of sunrise over the stunning Himalayan Mountains like the Annapurna, Fishtail Mountain, Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, and Ganesh Himal etc. As the sun slowly lightens the dark and gloomy sky, we shall have a magnificent view and after capturing this beautiful moment we shall now descent and continue with our perilous journey to luxuriant village of Tadapani. Traversing through the forest filled with pine and bamboo trees, we shall climb on a steep trail to a hilltop which is simply known as Deurali. From here onward we shall hike down and arrive at Tadapani (2,650 m). We shall rest and sleep for the remaining night here. Stay overnight at Tadapani.

Day 06: Trek from Tadapani to Chhomrong. 2170m (5/6 hrs)

We wake up with a glorious feeling and have our breakfast before heading out. Today we shall head onward to the north which has trails with many ups and downs but still the entire route should be very beautiful. Navigating through the rhododendron forests we shall be amazed with the scene of vegetation and wildlife thriving upon this mystic land. Now as we walk along the green ridges we shall witness a picturesque sight of Kimrong River. Moving on we shall now descent steeply to the Komrong village and further on go through terraced fields and green landscape surrounded by cascading hills the riverbed of the Kimrong River. We shall now move out of this valley with a steep climb to the Taulung village after our steep descent. From here we shall trek ahead to reach Jhinu Danda and as we step forward the terrain shall gradually flatten and lead us to the Gurung village of Chhomrong. Upon reaching here you shall stay in the local tea houses and observe the incredible mountains towering above the valley. Stay overnight at Chhomrong.

Day 07: Trek from Chhomrong to Dovan. 2600m (5/6 hrs)

As usual we shall wake up early and have our breakfast with the glorious mountains in the background. From the gorgeous village of Chhomrong we shall commence on with our amazing trek. Following the stone steps we shall now descent all the way down to the riverbed of Chhomrong River and afterward we shall climb up the hills to pass through small settlements while exploring the lush forest of oak and bamboo glowing up with the blooming rhododendrons. Being completely surrounded by the sight of rhododendrons, orchids and ferns we shall continue walking on the rocky path. Later on we shall reach another village called Bamboo by walking along the steep stone staircase before trekking through diverse vegetation of bamboo and rhododendron on a less steep trail. With the view of Annapurna rising above and beautifully arranged villages we shall gradually reach the Dovan village which is the last destination for this day. Stay overnight at Dovan.

Day 08: Trek from Dovan to Deurali. 3230m (5/6 hrs)

Today we shall be heading to our next destination called Deurali. As soon as we finish having our breakfast we should pick our bags and carry on walking through this magnificent region. We shall today walk along one of the most scenic sites of our trek as we walk through paths which are high above the river and normally surrounded by the forests of bamboo species. Crossing over numerous smaller streams we shall move one with our trek and later gradually ascent through thick forests full with amazing vegetations. As we get closer to our final destination we are bound to traverse and walk past several huge boulders and rocks. From here onward our trail shall lead us to an ascent through the riverbed to reach Deurali where you can relax and you’re your tired legs with amazing scenery. Stay overnight at Deurali.

Day 09: Trek from Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp. 4130m (5/6 hrs)

Today is the most important day of our trek as we shall climb ahead to the mountainside past steep ravine to Annapurna Base Camp. Progressing through the rocky trail we shall go through narrow paths with some sections where you can get the glimpses of mountains like Machapuchare (Fishtail) and Himchuli peaks. In this climax day, our carefully walk ahead with icy and slippery paths and trek away from the valley of Modi River situated far below our trekking trail. From this instant we shall all turn our way to the base of Annapurna peak, through a trail surrounded by hills and glacial moraines. After a trek of around 3 hours, we reach to the final destination of this trek, the Annapurna Base Camp. With the awe-inspiring mountains such as Annapurna I and III, Machapuchare Mountain, Hiuchuli Peak, Annapurna South, Annapurna Fang and Gangapurna peaks encircling us, we shall observe the sumptuousness of these peaks from propinquity. Stay overnight at Annapurna Base Camp.

Day 10: Trek from Annapurna Base Camp to Dovan 2600m (4/5 hrs)

After yesterday’s epic trek to the glorious base camp of Mt. Annapurna, we are now going to head back down to Dovan today. So, after waking up and having our breakfast, we have some final look around at the Annapurna Base Camp and then tie up our shoe laces for a downward descend which can take us 5 hours to complete. While enjoying the beautiful scenery all around us, we slowly but surely descend lower and lower which can be felt by our lungs as the air gets denser the further down we go. Later, we ultimately arrive at our final destination of Dovan village which sits comfortably at an altitude of 2,600 m. Stay overnight at Dovan.

Day 11: Trek from Dovan to Jhinu. (Natural Hot Spring) 1780m (4/5 hrs)

Today our trek shall commence as soon as we finish having our breakfast. We shall move along the trails with several steep trails having immemorial sights of the Himalayan terrains as well. Commencing our trek today with the descent to the settlement of Bamboo village through woody trails, afterward you shall climb to Kuldighar and move down all the way through to the settlement of Chhomrong village past small other settlements of this region. After eating some snacks at Chhomrong, we shall now make a short ascent before going downward to Jhinu. Now before reaching our final destination, we shall walk for about one hour through some gradual winding with few steep sections to ultimately reach the settlement of Jhinu Danda. Lastly if you want then you can surely hike to the natural hot spring located below Jhinu Danda. Stay overnight at Jhinu.

Day 12: Trek from Ghinu to Nayapool (1100m) 5/6 hrs, then drive to Pokhara by private car

We wake early in the morning and as usual have our tummy filled with breakfast before carrying on with our trek. Today shall mark the last day of our trek on which we have to endure some physical stress as tomorrow we plan on resting and relaxing in the lake city of Pokhara. Initially we shall start by moving away from Jhinu and head downward through green landscapes with mesmerizing views of the hills. Now we shall reach Landruk and from there onward we shall descend down to Syauli Bazaar via Ghorepani. Trails with several stone staircases shall lead us to some flat sections and many small settlements of local communities. Now we shall enter the easier and smoother terrains of Birethanti to reach Nayapool. Subsequently we shall now take a drive to Pokhara and upon reaching Pokhara we shall be escorted to our respective hotel rooms where you can relax and rest for the night. Stay overnight at Pokhara.

Day 13: Pokhara Rest

We traversed through some of the most beautiful and stunning trekking trails available in Nepal currently. So therefore today we shall just simply take some rest and have some drinks. You can go around and visit some places which might be intriguing for you. Capture some last but amazing shots of this beautiful lake city and enjoy your last stay at Pokhara. You have the option to visit places like Mahendra Cave, Guteshwor Mahadev Temple, David’s Fall and also you may go for boating around the Phewa lake with your friends. Observe the majestic Fish Tail Mountain reflecting in the quaint waters of Phew Lake From the quaint and beautiful Phewa Lake on clear weather day. And if you want to learn about the Mountaineering history then you can pay a visit to The Mountaineering Museum. Lastly after exploring the scenery and heritages in Pokhara you shall return back to your hotel room and prepare for your tomorrows departure to Kathmandu. Stay overnight in Pokhara.

Day 14: Pokhara to Kathmandu by Bus/Car/Air

After having our breakfast we shall pick up our bags and luggage for our scenic yet relaxing drive to Kathmandu. Initially you shall be transferred to the tourist bus station where you shall catch a ride through picturesque countryside with several rural villages, stony canyons and flourishing hills. Observe the rapid flowing rivers and breezy waterfalls overlooked by the Himalayas above and after few hours you shall reach to Kathmandu. Another thing to keep in mind is that you can also take a flight back to Kathmandu as an alternative to a drive to Kathmandu. Upon reaching Kathmandu you shall be escorted to your respective hotel, where you can take some rest. Later in evening, you may go and stroll around the streets of Thamel or do some souvenir shopping before your final departure tomorrow. Stay overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 15: Final Departure

Our exciting and interesting 14 days trek to the Annapurna Base Camp comes to an end today. A representative of Adventure Master Treks & Expedition shall transfer you to the airport 3 hours prior to your flight. But if you are interested to make your stay a bit longer with us then we can surely accommodate you with our service thereafter also. If not then we wish you a happy journey back to your home and hope that we have managed to give you a trip of a lifetime with us which you shall cherish for your entire life.
